The Teacher Training of Paul JJ Alix, founder of YOGA
for ALL, draws on the knowledge of such modern day masters as
Gary Kraftsow and TKV Desikachar, and is derived from a long and
dedicated daily personal practice that includes asana, mudra,
chanting, meditation, mantra, and pranayama.
As his teachers taught him, Paul understands asana
(postures) from the core of the breath. Using vinyasa krama,
you will learn how to sequence simple to complex postures that
empower your breath. And, more importantly, through his training
you will learn how to use the breath to empower your asana.
The breath is the vehicle to transform your mind from
the burden of distraction to its fullest empowerment. We will learn
simple sequences that help heal your students rather than risk hurting
them.
Paul's teachings are based on the understanding that
no two individuals are alike. Therefore, proper adaptation is essential
and we will learn to diversify our teaching methods to suit our
students. His students will benefit from his understanding of the
Nadi system (channels of energy) in your own body as we open
the flow of these energy rivers for the improved health of our organs
and our longevity.
Paul is considered a Sanskrit Master, and his Vedic
chanting is certified to conform to the style of South India and
his pronunciation is precise. His popular website, YOGAforALL.org,
contains essays and links for those who want to learn more about
yoga and the viniyoga tradition. Paul conducts teacher training
programs with yoga sutra study courses nationwide. We first studied
with him at Starseed,
a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher training center in Montclair,
New Jersey, where he gives his courses every fall.
Whether your practice has been drawn from long-term
experience or you've just begun, you are welcome to join us for
Paul's Teacher Training in 2003, and develop a personal practice
that will change your life forever.
